Maggie is having a bad day. The last thing she needed was to be stranded in the middle of the night. When James sees Maggie walking home alone he offers her a ride, however neither Maggie or James are who they appear to be. Trapped in James’ car Maggie must try to outwit and escape before it’s too late.

My first large project I worked on as the lead sound recordist, and sound designer. I learnt a lot about location sound, researching and developing methods to combat difficult problems that appeared on set due to recording in uncontrolled environments.
Location Sound
I worked on this project as both the location sound recordist and the sound designer for all audio in post. Whilst working on location sound I learnt various things such as taping techniques, hiding mics, the strengths and weaknesses of omni-directional mics and directional mics and how to keep myself sane waiting around for the camera department to slowly change between shots.
Sound Design
Post-production for this project was incredibly fun, I was able to treat and clean the dialogue using some isotope plugins I own. The process of creating the sound design through the gathering an implementation of layered sound effects to emphasise and build the world and story portrayed in the edit was a more enjoyable experience that I thought. Whilst I didn’t do any direct Foley, I sourced all my sound effects from zapsplat.com, which offers high quality royalty free sound effects free of charge.
Music
Whilst I didn’t write the music, I took a lot of consideration and care into obtaining the right tracks for each scene to correctly portray the emotions the audience should be feeling in that moment. I also puta lot of time into carefully editing the tracks so that they seamlessly transition into each other as to not break the immersion for the audience. I’m never a fan of the lazy fade out then fade in tactic for changing tracks.
